Weekend Round Up - 19-21/11/21

Friday evening Swindon Harriers hosted the first in their winter 3000m track series. U15B Dominic Martin made an impressive 3000m debut finishing 3rd in race 1 in 9:56.47. Fellow U15B Freddie Coombe was in brilliant form taking the win in race 2 in 10:20.31. In the same race U15G Harriet Smith knocked a second off her PB with a fantastic time of 11:55.77 for 5th. U17W Abigail Thornley was just behind in 6th place in 12:04.84. U17M Bexley Turbard competed in race 5, the pole vault specialist was competing in his first ever 3000m race and ran a strong race to finish in 7th in 10:29.23. In race 6 U20W Ciara Thornley was just outside her PB in 9:55.35 for 8th place, her second time under 10minutes. In the final race of the evening Jamie Harper took 2nd place knocking over 20 seconds off his PB, running under 9 minutes for the first time with an incredible 8:55.68!
The following day at the 2nd race of the Tempo Winter Series Michael Imeson was a brilliant 3rd M65 finishing in 58:28. At the Midland 5 mile cross country Championships in Nottingham Rachel See committed to the pace, leading the field through the first of three laps. Despite a decent effort, See eventually finished just outside the medals in a close 4th place.
On Sunday DBmax events hosted the Chilly 10k and Duathlon. Harrison Miles took on the 10k finishing 10th in 38:33.7, a strong distance debut. Sam Pickering and Nicola Knight competed in the duathlon finishing 4th and 6th in there respective age groups.
