Virtual Racing - 2021 National Road Relays Qualifying Round + BMAF 10k

15 January 2021

The qualifying round of the 2021 Virtual Road Relay Championships took place between Saturday 26 December 2020 and Wednesday 13 January 2021 with competitors required to complete a 5 mile time trial. 19 Harriers took part producing an impressive 16th place team finish out of 128 teams. The top 50 teams will now progress to the National Round in February.

There were also some high ranked individual performances. George Watson was the fastest Harrier with a time of 26:42 and Beth Hawling was the fastest female (28:33) and 6th fastest female overall. Daniel Minors (28:30) was 3rd M50 and Kaitlyn Sheppard (29:10) was 3rd female U17. Ella Burfitt ran well to finish in 30:58 ranking her 9th U20 women.

A massive well done to the whole team, George Hawthorne, Elliot Prince, Harrison Miles, Russell Forsbrook, Kevin Sheppard, Andy Gore, Andrew Kaighan, Steve Bradley, Sarah Sheppard, Jo Wilkie, Victoria Wilkinson, Petra Vymetalova, Nicola Whiteman and Mel Schofield. Hopefully, even more Harriers brave a time trial for round 2!

Back in December The British Masters Virtual 10k Championships took place with two Harriers taking part. Jo Wilkie finished as 10th V40 Women with a time of 44:41 and Steve Bradley was 46th V45 Male in 47:39
