Cheltenham Harrier Alister Brown continued his fine recent form with a 5 mile personal best at the Centurian 5 mile road race in Solihull where he lowered his best time over the distance to 29:36 for a fifth place finish. The previous month had seen Brown equal his best ever finish in the Birmingham Cross Country League fixture in Wolverhampton and also claim his highest ever finish in the Gloucestershire Cross Country League race in Warwick where he scored for the Harriers A team for the first time. The weekend’s Cheltenham parkrun saw the Harriers fill the top three places as Graham Rush ran his fastest time at the event to place first in 15:20. This time also moved Rush up to the number one position in the event’s all-time list as he surpassed teammate Dave Roper’s 15:42. Alex Lee placed second behind Rush in 16:35, with Marcus England third across the line in 17:46 and Simon Critchley recording 19:21 for fourteenth place. There was also a parkrun win for Gareth Edwards at the Gloucester North parkrun in 19:31 whilst Matt Evans finished eleventh in the Woodhouse Moor parkrun in Leeds.
