Rhys Park showed excellent form to set 5000m and 1500m personal bests at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa, California. Park, representing Boise State University, broke his 5000m PB by 4 seconds, clocking 14:10.57 for 12th place. He also achieved a personal best in the 1500m the following day by 4 seconds, finishing in 3:54:30. Back in England, Phil Wylie won the Exeter Fast Friday 10k. The 38-year old finished in a time of 31:30, ahead of Philip Bridge of Yeovil (32:42) and James Thie of Cardiff (33:15). Russell Forsbrook ran in the midweek Yeovilton 5k finishing 25th in a time of 17:19. Matt Evans competed in the Isle of Man festival which consists of 3 races in 3 days. The 25-year old’s first race involved a 10k in Port Erin where he placed 86th in a time of 37:25. The next race was a 4-Mile race in Peel where he came 107th in 28:04. The last race consisted of running 5k where Evans clocked 18:20 coming in 86th position. The Bushley Mile road race saw Cheltenham Harriers Mark James, James Wilkinson and Dave Rantell competing. 40-year old James finished the mile race in exactly 5 minutes placing 2nd behind Charlie Eastaugh of Leamington. James Wilkinson came 7th with a personal best of 5:23 and Rantell clocked a time of 5:41 securing 14th position. The weekend parkrun results several wins for Cheltenham Harriers. David Aubrey who has been running strongly in the past few months won Cheltenham parkrun in 17:10. James Wilkinson 9th (18:25), Gareth Edwards 23rd (19:47), Edward Holdsworth 33rd (20:08), William Holdsworth 41st (20:33) and Katerina Horrocks 90th (22:28) also competed. Andy Gardiner came close to breaking his parkrun personal best coming 10th in 16:59 in Cardiff. Mark James won Kingsway parkrun achieving a parkrun personal best of 16:40. Under 17 athlete George Hawthorne won Ally Pally parkrun in North London in 18:14. Liam Roarty, back home in Dublin for Easter holidays, won River Valley parkrun in 16:57 achieving a parkrun personal best.
