Cheltenham Harrier Jon Barnes continued his fine recent form by winning the Breinton ten mile road race in Hereford. With his confidence high after setting a 32:36 personal best over 10k the previous weekend; Barnes was content to sit in a four man lead group that stayed together until eight miles into the race. He then picked up the pace to move clear of the field and take the win in 57:45 for a 34 second victory over Croft Ambley’s Stacey Morgan. Further success came for the Harriers in the vet 50 category where Dave Hemmings won the age group in 70:59.
