With a free weekend on the club’s racing schedule, three Cheltenham Harriers made great use of parkruns to test their fitness and record first places finishes. Having made pleasing progress in 2018, culminating with a 10k personal best of 32:16 at Telford two weeks ago, George Watson confirmed his good form with his fastest ever parkrun time of 16:21 as he finished first at the Cheltenham event in Pittville Park for the fourth time. Clubmate Jamie Harper (16:55) placed second before Edward Holdsworth (18:50) set a personal best and Michael Ede (20:38) was the first V60 runner. Ella Burfitt (21:34) was the second lady home whilst Georgia Palmer (22:15) also had a run out to finish as fifth lady. Full of confidence after his 5000m track PB of 16:08 the previous weekend, Chris Booth recorded his fastest ever parkrun of 16:52 as he crossed the line clear of the field at the Cassiobury parkrun in Watford. Liam Roarty meanwhile made it nine first place parkruns out of nine in 2018, as he again led the way home in 17:42 at the River Valley event in Dublin.
