Oli Mott continued his fine recent form continued with a personal best at the Highgate Harriers 10,000m Meeting held at the Parliament Hill Fields Athletics Track. Contesting the C race that preceded the British Championship and Olympic Trials, Mott soon found his rhythm and went through the 3000m mark in 9:20 and passed the half way point in 15:36. Picking up places in the second half of the race the Gloucestershire 5000m champion went on to finish eighth in 31:21.32 as he took six seconds off his previous best track time for the distance. In the B race Phil Wylie posted a time of 31:11.89 for 22nd place despite still struggling with a rib injury from a bike crash in a recent duathlon. Will New finished 23rd in the D race with a 34:25.38 clocking. The weekend’s Cheltenham parkrun in Pittville Park saw Dave Roper take the win in 16:23. Second placed Ben Williams equalled his best time for the event with 17:48 and Matt Evans recorded 18:50 for sixth position. Megan Brinley was the first lady home at the Newent parkrun where she finished second overall in 20:28.
