Dave Roper made a return to winning ways as Cheltenham Harriers filled the first four places home for an emphatic team victory at the Chedworth 10 mile multi-terrain race. Roper quickly opened up a gap over teammate Marc Fallows in the opening miles, as the pair finished in times of 59:58 and 62:43 respectively. Teenager Jacob Pickering moved clear of Andy Gore after six miles to take third in 64:17 with Gore crossing the line 36 seconds later. Richard Birch (69:37), Paul Barnes (79:08) and Samantha Pickering (90:56) also conquered the testing course. There was also a win for Graham Rush at Severn AC’s Grocery 4 mile road race at Arlingham as he finished clear of Bristol’s Luke Evans to take the win in 19:38 as fellow Harrier Will New took third place in 22:10. A successful trip to the Cheshire 10k in Warrington saw Lee Groenewegen lower his personal best for the distance by 23 seconds as he clocked a very pleasing 37:44. The weekend’s Cheltenham parkrun in Pittvillw Park saw Gavin McCaugherty finish third in 17:36 to finish just one place and four seconds ahead of Jack Mundinano who set his best ever time on the course. Veterans Ian Giles (20:10) and Mike Ede (20:34) followed before Jo Wilkie was the fifth lady to finish in 22:14. Isabel Ovens (22:50) and Agata Giles were seventh and ninth ladies home in 22:50 and 23:23 respectively.
