Open Competitions 29-31/5/2021
01 June 2021
Two BMC events in one day resulted in two impressive Harrier performances.
At the BMC PB Classic in Millfield Ciara Thornley won the 3000m D race in 10:10.20 knocking 10 seconds off her previous best and finishing almost 7 seconds clear of her nearest rival. This new personal best sees Thornley jump up to 13th in the UK U17 rankings.
In Manchester at the BMC Grand Prix it was another PB for George Watson, the Loughborough Uni student seems to just keep getting quicker this year and the consistent work put in throughout lockdown is paying off. Watson finished 3rd in the 1500m C race in 3:49.39, a 2 second PB and his first time under 3:50.
At the Aldershot Open Ellis Woolley made her debut over 3000m. Woolley went out hard but held on well to finish in an impressive 11:32.6. Younger sister Heidi Woolley was also making a debut competing in the 800m. The U11 athlete ran a brilliant race to finish just over 3minutes in 3:00.23.
