2021 UK School Games

06 September 2021

The 2021 UK Schools Games took place in Loughborough over the weekend with more than 1300 athletes taking part across 10 different sports. Only the top athletes are selected in each event and therefore it was great to see 3 Harriers taking part.

Kiya Dee has gone from strength to strength this year since discovering a talent for the steeplechase and earnt her first team selection at the event in Loughborough. Despite having only competed in the event twice before Dee is already the English Champion and therefore expectations were high going into the competition. Dee brushed the pressure off and ran a superb race to pull clear of her rivals and take the win in 5:03.51.

Jessica Duncton was also taking on the hurdles, but of the sprint variety, 80m. Duncton ran brilliantly, holding on well in a close race to secure a bronze medal and cross the line in 11.62. This is Dunctons third national medal of the season, she adds the bronze to her English Championship bronze and English Schools silver.

Sulaiman Ouiles has been having a fantastic season so far and the chance to compete at the UK School Games in the pole vault was well deserved. Ouiles performed well and held his own at his first major championship event to finish 4th with his 4th best jump ever, 3.55m.
