The 3rd and final race in the Hereford 5k series took place in hot and humid conditions on Wednesday evening. Martin Foster led the Harriers home in a time of 17:34, 10th M45-49 on the day but finishing 7th overall in the series. Ellis Woolley showed brilliant consistency running 20:09 for the second race in a row and wrapping up the series having won all three races in the F10-14 age category. Coming in as 3rd F10-14 in her 2nd quickest 5k ever (21:52) Milly Foster secured 2nd in the series behind her teammate. Mell Schofield ran well in the heat to finish as 8th senior on the day in 23:14 and 4th overall in the series. 

Over in Milton Keynes at the BMC PB Classic Kiya Dee competed in the 1500m. Progressing with each race this season Dee ran well to finish in 4:39.29.

The Midland Masters Championships took place in Nuneaton over the weekend with multiple Harrier golds and 2 club records. Ruth Bird took on the challenge of competing in all four throwing events and was on form throughout taking home all four F55 Gold medals. Beginning the day with the Discus Bird threw 25.48 not only winning her age category but coming 2nd of any aged female. Next up was the Shot Put where Bird threw a season’s best of 9.47 for 3rd overall, a position she replicated in the Hammer with 34.83. Bird wrapped up a long successful day with 6th overall in the Javelin with 20.45 a new club F55 record!.

Kathyrn Morton also lowered her F60 1500m club record by 0.51 seconds with a time of 6:11.29. Morton won gold in her age category and finished 7th overall. Nick Holliday made it double distance success winning both the M60 800 and 1500m in 2:36.55 and 5:13.39.

Michael Gardiner took to the track for the first time since early 2020 and ran well to win silver in the M50 200m in 25.51.
