A brilliant Wednesday evening saw athletes competing at the Birmingham Uni Open and Loughborough Open

Alfie Wood opened his 2021 season in the long jump with a leap of 6.41 for 5th overall and 2nd under 20.

Kaitlyn Sheppard then continued her impressive recent form with a personal best in the 1500m of 4:34.22 for 9th. The time ranks Kaitlyn 6th in the UK under 20 rankings in her first year in the age group. 

Jamie Harper has also been in PB form this year so expectations were high when he lined up for his first 800 since 2019. The Harrier ran a strong race to take two seconds off his previous best running 1:55.70 to finish 6th.
