Under 13s XC report

05 November 2016

The Under 13 Girls from Cheltenham and County Harriers turned up ready for action at their cross country race in Blackbridge, Gloucester today, Saturday 5th November. The A-team came first with 24 points overall, assisted by Hermione Brewster coming in fourth place in the individual positions, as well as by the huge efforts of her team mates. The girls who took part were Isobel Owen, Emily Dandy, Millie Tombs, Hermione Brewster, Ruth Hutt, Olivia Bennett, Emma Edwards and Kaitlyn Sheppard, and it was a sterling effort from them all.

With the first lap completed it was time for Ben to make his move to the front for the Cheltenham boys, where he appeared to be in full control and able to react as needed, romping home in first place with what looked to be enough in hand to hold of any intruder! Following closely behind and remaining close by for the whole race were Jack and Joe finishing 6th and 7th respectively. Another superb effort. Followed by Ed and Zac, with good stride control and upper body hand pumping to finish 11th and 14th respectively. Followed by James at 22nd (with a schools x country of the previous day) happy to have run the event and pleased to gain the experience. Next Came Archie-28th, Jacob 34th and Alex 44th showing how the team have strength in depth to excel and learn from these running experiences.
