A cold but sunny Saturday the 5th of November at Blackbridge , Crypt School in Gloucester saw Round 2 of the Gloucestershire amateur athletics association cross country series
where Cheltenham & county Harriers u11 Girls team produced another fine performance. Jessica Duncton again leading the A team home in second place closely followed by Freya Howell in 4th and Lulu Skerek in 7th secured a second win for the U11 girls in the team event of the series.The Harriers B team of Hetty McCartney 11th , Olivia Gardiner 12th and Ellis Woolley 15th also did not disappoint running well ensuring second place in the team event! Some other fine performances were from Georgia Howell 16th ,Chloe Sheppard 19th , Amelie Owen 21st & Ella Makins 25th all finishing in the top half of the field. The Harriers u11 girls have now finished 1st and 2nd in both of the Cross country races this year so far and gives them every opportunity with 2 races to go of retaining the title for the 2016/2017 season.
Cheltenham and County Harriers U11 Boys performed strongly in the latest round of the Gloucestershire Cross Country League on Saturday 5th November hosted by Gloucester AC at Blackbridge. Run in dry, sunny conditions, the pace was fast from the start and the field quickly became stretched out over the two-lap course. With eight runners amongst the top thirty finishers, Harriers also placed three in the top ten with Sam Cotton, William Holdsworth and Isaac Henderson 3rd, 4th and 7th respectively for the U11 boys. Dylan Stoneman of Team Bath AC won the 2.6km race in a time of 9m33
