World Masters Mountain Running Championship, 31/8/13

Martin Ford celebrated his move into the over 70 age group by becoming World Champion at the World Masters Mountain Running Championships in the Czech Republic. Less than a month after becoming a septuagenarian, Ford won the 8km uphill event at Janske Lazne as he finished four seconds ahead of Germany’s Peter Lessing. Ford also helped the British team to silver medals behind Germany with fellow Cheltenham Harrier Ken Buckle completing the three man team in eleventh place.
