World Age Group Duathlon Champs, 1 June

Ben Price took 6th place in his age group and 18th overall at the World Age Group Duathlon Championships in Pontevedra, Spain. The 32 year old father of two went sub 34 minutes on the undulating opening 10k run placing him 6th going into transition. He lost a few places on the hilly 40km bike leg before storming home in 17.39 on the leg sapping final 5km to finish 6th. Ben said, ‘It was the first time I’ve competed for Great Britain and it was an amazing experience. The crowds on the run route were incredible and to race against athletes from all over the world was a real buzz. It was hot and the course was tough, but I am pleased with my performance which made the dedicated training well worth it – though a podium next time would be nice!’ To read Ben’s full report go to and click on Team K1 News.
