White Horse 5k, 21/6/12

Andy Prophett led Cheltenham Harriers to team victory as he finished third in the White Horse 5k road race in Gloucester. With race winner Rhys Park (Bristol) comfortably clear of the field, Prophett was in a three man battle for second with Kyran Hale (Severn) and Andy Renfree (Cornwall). Hale finally opened a gap with half a mile remaining which Prophett could only narrow to three seconds as he beat Renfree on the final run in to cross the line in 16:10. Ben Price ran well to take sixth place in a personal best of 16:32 with training partner Roger Mullins two seconds behind in seventh and Russell Forsbrook taking ninth in 16:44. The victorious six man team was completed by Darren Jordan who returned from injury with a 17:13 for thirteenth and Elliot Prince with 17:48 for seventeenth. Jane Thomas was the seventh lady home in a personal best of 20:00 as she finished eight seconds behind Dave Hemmings whilst Gavin Cotter made a welcome return to racing in 21:14. Full Results
