Julia Cooke continued her fine form as she finished second whilst representing Wales in the 800m at the Welsh International match against England, Scotland and the regional under 20 teams in Cardiff. Cooke’s time of 2:07.95 was just three hundredths of a second behind winner Katherine Snowden and just eleven hundredths of a second outside her personal best that she earlier in the month. In the shot Annabel Sherry represented the Midlands under 20 team and produced her best series of the season. All six of Sherry’s putts were further than her previous season’s best mark, with five of them in excess of thirteen metres. A best of 13.43m in the fourth round earned the seventeen year old fourth place and moved her up to fourth in the national under 20 rankings and fourteenth in the senior lists. Competing as a guest in the men’s javelin, Neil Crossley finished fifth with 61.31m.
