Track and Field News, 6-7 June

There were wins for Imran Qureshi in the high jump, Mel Bird in the discus and the women’s 4×100m team as Cheltenham Harriers finished fifth in the Midland League Division One fixture in Wolverhampton. There were personal best performances achieved by Sam Griffiths in the 200m and long Jump, Jeremy Drackett in the 200m, Rachel See, Alex Bampton and Iain Devlin the 3000m, Chris Davies in the discus and Jacob Pickering in the 1500m. Matt Evans made his debut in the 3000m steeplechase whilst Andy Gore ran a Cheltenham V45 record in the 3000m. Andrew Smitherman ran sub-50 again for second in the 400m which also saw Yesper Adams win the B race. Jess Collins and Ruth Bird competed in a total of 13 events between them to show their commitment to the team.

Jane Horder competed in the Midland Masters Championships on Sunday in Nuneaton where she won the 80m hurdles in 13.4 seconds running into a headwind and claimed another gold in the 300m hurdles with a 49.9 clocking.
