Stanley Marathon, 17/3/13

Andrew van Kints enjoyed a winning marathon debut in the Stanley Marathon on the Falkland Islands. Having not carried out any specific marathon training, the RAF man only decided to take part in the world’s most southerly internationally recognised marathon just nine days before the race. After going through half way in under 80 minutes van Kints slowed in the second half but still won the race by over twelve minutes in a time of 2 hours 51 minutes and 43 seconds to claim the £1,100 first prize.
