Dave Rantell was in fine form as he knocked over a minute from his 10k personal best to finish third at the Runway 10k in Staverton. With race winner Harry Bishop (Severn) clear at the front, Rantell was involved in a close battle for second place which he lost to Bishop’s teammate James Rose in a sprint for the line. However, finishing as first veteran in third place overall and with a new pb of 35:02 marked a successful morning for the 45 year old. Andy Prophett followed in 35:18 in fifth place, with Steve Linton third veteran home in a pb of 37:38. Jacob Pickering then broke the 40 minute barrier for the first time before Sam Pickering ran a personal best of 48:38 and Ruth Bird completed the course in 62:17.
