Sophie Yorke set a Cheltenham Harriers under 17 club record as the club hosted its final Midsummer Open Meeting at the Prince of Wales Stadium. Yorke’s time of 19.0 seconds was 0.2 seconds quicker than her own record she set twelve months ago and earned her second place in the race. In the same age group English Schools 100m hurdles bronze medallist Chris Bell-Hartley made a winning debut over 400m hurdles with a 58.7 clocking that places him 25th in the national rankings. There was also a win for Phoebe Hobbs with a personal best of 2:30.3 in the 800m. In the under 15 events Freya Chapman claimed wins in both the 150m and 300m, with times of 19.9 and 44.8 respectively. In the field the javelin brought the club success with wins in the under 20 event for Will Sage with 44.62m, Ryan Ellis in the under 17 competition with 44.49m and Lewis Carter claiming the under 15 win with 32.81m.
