Cheltenham Harriers consolidated their second place in Division One of the Midland League with a third placed finish in their Match at Bristol. Julia Cooke showed good finishing speed in the relatively slow paced tactical middle distance races, as she won the 1500m in 4:44.50 after earlier placing second in the 800m in 2:14.8. Dan Owen dominated the 2000m steeplechase with a front running 6:11.5 victory whilst Dave Roper pulled clear of the field in the second half of the 5000m to claim maximum points in 15:11.1. Earlier in the meeting Jamie Horder and Russell Whiting ensured a Harriers double in the 400m hurdles as they won the A and B races in 56.4 and 59.8 seconds respectively. The sole Harriers victory in the field events came from Liam Downer who won the javelin with 51.90m as he scored valuable points across a range of events.
There were also A string second places for Whiting with 17.7 seconds in the 110m hurdles and Ashley Barker with a 1.85m clearance in the high jump. Annabel Sherry finished second in the shot with 12.02m as well as finishing third in the discus with 30.62m. Ashley Hill finished third in the 200m A race in 24.2 seconds, a position matched by Hannah Foward with 59.4 in the 400m, Jane Horder with 70.0 in the 400m hurdles and Jess Collins with 2.00m in the pole vault. There were also impressive middle distance personal bests for Andrew van Kints with 1:59.9 in the 800m and 4:06.2 in the 1500m whilst Jo Wilkie lowered her pb to 11:26.5 in the 3000m.
