There were Cheltenham Harriers indoor records for Mia O’Connell and Mollie Courtney at the Midland Indoor Open in Birmingham. Competing in the women’s 1500m 17 year old O’Connell finished second in a time of 4:44.27 to set a new club under 20 record and place herself ninth in the UK rankings for her age group. In the under 17 girl’s high jump Courtney’s 1.60m clearance ensured victory and equalled the Harriers indoor record for the age group, as well as placing her fourteenth in the national lists. On the track there was a 2:01.00 victory for Rhys Lloyd in the under 20 men’s 800m race in which Yesper Adams placed fourth in a personal best 2:02.21. In the same age group Emily Pascoe placed fifth in the 60m hurdles in 6.49 seconds and Charlotte Williamson set pbs of 27.68 in the 200m and 62.41 in the 400m. In the under 17 events Linton Gardiner placed second in the 60m hurdles in 8.77, second in the high jump with 1.80m and third in the long jump with 5.84m. Jack Lightfoot set pbs of 7.73 and 24.35 in the under 17 60m and 200m races, whilst vet 55 sprinter Kevin Downes ran times of 9.29 and 28.85 over the same distances and Helen Hanstock cleared 1.50m in the women’s high jump.
