Midland Indoor Open, 12-13/1/13

There were Harriers indoor records for Mollie Courtney, Chris Bell-Hartley and Katy Townsend at the Midland Indoor Open in Birmingham. Courtney opened her season by reducing her own under 17 60m hurdles record by 0.18 seconds to take victory in 9.03 in an event where fellow Harrier Megan Bishop set a new personal best with a 9.37 clocking. The Harriers boys 60m hurdles record also fell as Bell-Hartley’s time of 8.62 was the third fastest of the day in the under 17 age group in which he was competing for the first time. In the under 20 long jump Townsend placed second with 5.05m to claim the Harriers senior and junior women’s indoor marks despite being 15cm of her best outdoor mark. In the same age group Emily Pascoe was the second in the 60m hurdles as she took 0.42 seconds from her previous best with a 9.32 clocking. In the under 17 girl’s 60m Stephanie Beardsmore ran a time of 8.37. Full Results
