There were three wins for Dan Owen as Cheltenham Harriers under 20 team clinched the National Junior League Avon Division title in their final match in Plymouth. Owen opened up with a 400m hurdles win in a personal best 59.0 seconds before claiming tactical wins in the 1500m in 4:19.2 and the 2000m steeplechase in 6:28.5. For the women’s team Annabel Sherry took two victories in the shot with 11.61m and discus with 32.66m, as well as setting a pb of 38.48m for second place in the hammer. Backing up Sherry in the throws was Millie Wood who gained three B string wins with 10.06m in the shot, 29.16m in the discus and 21.71m in the hammer.
Further victories came from Rhys Lloyd won the 800m in 2:02.7 and Tom Stubbs with a 2.80m clearance in the pole vault. The men’s javelin also produced good points as Will Sage placed second with 47.86m and Liam Downer won the B competition with 44.23m. Adam Peachey equalled his personal best of 11.3 for second place in the 100m whilst Carsten Adams set a 400m pb of 53.4 seconds.
