Linton Gardiner had a successful weekend with a host of personal bests as he competed in his first international for the Great Britain junior team in a three way competition against France and Spain. The event took place near Paris with the seventeen year old finishing in sixth place overall in the indoor heptathlon with a personal best score and Cheltenham Harriers club record of 5123 points. This ranks the Kerry Eddie coached athlete in the top twenty on the UK all time list for indoor heptathlon. In an exciting competition only 43 point separated fourth and sixth place. On the way to this fantastic score Gardiner also achieved personal bests of 7.31 seconds in the 60m, 8.40 seconds in the 60m hurdles, 4.20m in the pole vault and 2.44.08 in over 1000m.
