Gloucester Road Relay, 2/3/13

New signing Richard Dare ran the third fastest time of the day as he led a Cheltenham Harriers team to third place in the Gloucester Road Relay. Dare placed second in 16:09 behind Will Paulson (Stroud, 15:14) on the opening leg, with Ander Russell (Stroud,15:44) the only other runner to beat his time. The second leg saw Dmitry Nazarenko clock 17:19 to maintain second place for the Harriers before Steve Linton ran 18:49 to hand over to fellow veteran Dave Hemmings in third place with one leg remaining. Hemmings showed a big improvement on his 5k times form last summer to run 19:10 and ensure the Harriers took the bronze medals behind Stroud and Severn and ahead of fourth placed Gloucester.
