Gloucester 5 mile, 16/2/13

James Miller claimed his first road race victory with a win in the Gloucester 5 mile road race. The middle distance specialist was happy to sit in the leading pack in the early stages before the group had whittled down to just Matt Atkins of hosts Severn AC and himself by the time they had reached the 2 mile mark in just under 11 minutes. The pair then ran together until a mile to go when Miller made his move to open up a race winning gap and cross the line in 27:54 with Atkins ten seconds adrift. Further down the field Harriers veteran Dave Hemmings ran well for a time of 31:34.
