Linton Gardiner finished eighth in the under 17 boys octathlon at the English Schools Combined Events Championship in Bedford. At the end of the opening day the fifteen year old lay tenth after recording 5.69m in the long jump, setting personal bests of 34.97m and 40.79m in the discus and javelin respectively and completing the day with a 54.77 second 400m. The following day Gardiner ran 14.67 for the 100m hurdles, cleared 1.77m in the high jump, recorded 9.09m in the shot and completed the 1500m in 4:50.54 to finish in eighth place.
In the under 15 boys pentathlon Imran Qureshi opened the competition with a personal best of 11.83m in the 80m hurdles before putting the shot 10.92m. An impressive 6.10m in the long jump and a high jump pb of 1.68m left Qureshi fifth with one event remaining but a 2:43.73 clocking in the 800m saw the fourteen year old finish the competition in tenth place. Three Harriers represented Gloucestershire In the under 17 girls heptathlon with Anna Martin placing 31st, Mollie Courtney coming 35th and Megan Bishop finishing in 37th place. Full Results
