Annabel Sherry took the bronze medal in the under 20 women’s shot put with a season’s best of 11.70m at the England Athletics Junior Indoor Championships in Birmingham. In the under 17 age Mollie Courtney finished sixth in the final of the 60m hurdles in 8.97seconds after clocking 8.95 in her heat and 8.98 in her semi-final. In the same event Megan Bishop set a personal best of 9.32 to complete a busy weekend which also saw her post a 200m indoor best time of 26.76 and clock 42.97 in the 300m. Linton Gardiner finished eighth in the high jump as he equalled his personal best with a 1.85m clearance. Gardiner also ran a pb of 8.66 in the heats of the 60m hurdles in which Chris Bell-Hartley clocked 8.54 seconds before deciding not to contest his semi-final. Imran Qureshi finished tenth in the long jump with 5.90m whilst Ben Clarke ran times of 7.62 and 23.91 in his 60m and 200m heats. In the girls 60m Stephanie Beardsmore ran 8.40 and Sophie Yorke qualified through her heat with a time of 7.95 before running 8.03 for fourth place in her semi-final.
