Dan Owen’s fine form continued as he set a 3000m steeplechase personal best of 9:10.81 at the British League match in Manchester. The 21 year old knocked over two seconds from his previous best time to move up to twenty-fourth in the national rankings. Jon Barnes had a productive week with a midweek win over 10,000m on the track to claim the Herefordshire title in 33:54 before placing thirtieth, and third under 23 runner, in Sedburgh at the British Trials for the World Mountain Running Championship.

At the Cheltenham parkrun Dave Aubrey won his first event as he beat his previous best time on the Pittville Park course by 27 seconds. His time of 16:39 also places him ninth on the event’s all time list as he became the seventeenth Harrier to win the event. In second and third places Will New and Mike Gray also recorded course bests of 17:02 and 17:16 respectively before Dmitry Nazarenko (17:18) completed the top four. Dave Rantell (17:56) in sixth and Steve Hall (18:07) in eighth followed before Gareth Edwards lowered his best time on the course to 18:43.
