Cheltenham Harriers ladies claimed an impressive team win with three runners in the top six at the Stroud Half Marathon. Shona Crombie-Hicks again led the Harriers home as she finished as third lady with a time of 84:21 behind fellow veterans Annabel Granger (Bristol) and Serane Stone (Tiverton). Making an impressive debut for the club was new recruit Hannah D’Ambrosio who knocked over five minutes off her previous best time to take fourth place in a new personal best of 85:14. Completing the winning team in sixth place was Fee Maycock who stopped the clock at 86:57. Marcus England led the Harriers men home as he ran an isolated race to take fifth in 74:09. Dave Tomlin then ran well to finish as first veteran home in an impressive 75:44 for eighth place overall and Dave Hemmings recorded 1:40:03. Meanwhile, Phil Wylie put in a good performance at the Great South Run in Portsmouth where he finished thirteenth overall in 51:29 and Dave Aubrey made his marathon debut in Abingdon where he ran 2:54:13 for thirtieth place.

The Cheltenham parkrun also brought success for the club with the Harriers filling the top four places in Pittville Park as Phil Beastall took the win in 15:53. This was Beastall’s fastest time on the course and moved him up into third place on the all-time ranking list for the event behind teammates Graham Rush and Dave Roper. In second place Ben Price ran 16:11 to knock a second off his previous best time on the course and Jeremy Bradley made a welcome return to race action with 17:09 for third place. In fourth Dave Tomlin clocked 17:17 before Gareth Edwards (19:08) and Dave Hemmings (20:45) crossed the line. There was also a Harriers one-two at the Kingsway parkrun in Gloucester where Mark James lowered his best time at the event to 17:15 and Andy Gardiner recorded 17:33. James Wilkinson enjoyed a 19:03 win at the Tewkesbury event whilst Katerina Horrocks was first lady home at the Keswick parkrun in 22:58 where her brother Michael recorded 20:10 for fifth position.
