There was a stage win for Andy Gore as Cheltenham Harriers finished sixth in the 103 mile Cotswold Way Relay. Vickie Wilkinson took the first of ten off road stages from Chipping Campden to Stanway and finished as second lady home in sixteenth place overall. Roger Mullins then placed second on stage two to Cleeve Common before Miguel Mundinano ran well for third place as the race went to Seven Springs. Ian Giles finished eighth on the fourth leg to Cranham, a run that meant he has now completed all ten stages of the race. Andrew Kaighin returned from injury to finish second on the fifth stage to Ebley Mill before Steve Robinson took seventh place as the race reached Dursley. Gore then won the seventh stage to Wotton-under-Edge before Elliot Prince placed eighth on the run to Old Sodbury. Cotswold Way debutants Iain Harper and Richard Birch then placed thirty-fourth and twenty-seventh respectively on their legs to Cold Ashton and Bath Abbey to bring the team home in sixth place.
Harriers women comprised the majority of a composite team that finished as second ladies team, highlights included second places on stages two and six for Nicola Whiteman and Tara Park, a third place on the fifth leg for Joan Shaw and a fourth place for Lucy Merigold on the eighth stage. Louise McRitchie made a return to racing with sixth on stage three, a position matched by Trina Hawkins on stage ten. Full Results.
