Jane Horder broke the over 55 300m hurdles world record as she took gold at the British Masters Championship in Derby. The 55 year old who has won a host of European and World titles in various veteran age groups lowered the record to 49.00 seconds before taking bronze in the 200m in a season’s best 28.88. There was also a national title for forty-three year old Michael Gardiner with the as he took the V40 400m gold with a 50.38 clocking, his best time since 2008. There was a silver medal for Martin Ford in the vet 65 5000m as he missed out on gold by less than a second with a time of 19:02.39 whilst Ken Buckle placed fifth in the v70 5000m in 23:25.24. In the vet 60 sprints John Steel was eighth quickest in both the 100m and 200m as he set season’s bests of 14.07 and 28.85 respectively.
