Martin Ford moved to the top of the national vet 65 rankings with an impressive run at the Berkeley 10k road race. The 69 year old had been lying second in the lists with his 38:55 at the Bourton 10k, but he surpassed this with a 38:31 clocking which was his fastest time since 2010. Despite having raced the previous morning, Anthony Bailey was back in pursuit of both county race series points and the fast starting Kyran Hale (Severn). By three miles Hale had a lead of around eight seconds on the Cheltenham athlete with Steve Millward (Gloucester) a couple of seconds further back. Bailey caught Hale but was unable to make it two wins in two days as he lost out in the closing stages to finish two seconds adrift in 33:34. Dave Rantell was third veteran home in eighth in 36:22 with Andy Gore taking tenth in 36:53. James Wilkinson ran well to set a new personal best of 38:03 whilst Dave Hemmings (39:53), Paul Barnes (40:47), Adrian Higgs (45:52) and Ken Buckle (47:06) also competed.
