Raffle tickets – the draw will be done at the Celebration Evening- if you cannot come support the club by either donating a prize or buying a ticket.Cost £1 These are for sale on Tues/Thursday evenings. Think it of it in terms that you are paying these coaches who have kindly agreed to look after you while I am away! Cheap compared to a music lesson!!!!

365 Sponsored Walk is now over £500 – many thanks to all who particiapted & have handed in their monies. If any ahtlete still has monies to hand in please bring it in ASAP. In an evelope with the athletes name & that it is for the 365 sponsored walk.
Cross Country – good to see a lot of athletes wish to do it. Have you entered them on the forms which are at the desk ?? It helps on the day. First Glos League is 14th Oct. We are still looking for a Girls Under 15 Team Manager ( Year 10/9) Race at 1.00pm Under 15 Boys is : Julia Cook Race at 12.40pm Year 7/8 Under 13 Boys is : ???Race at 12noon Under 13 Girls is :Mark Gardiner Race at 12.20pm

Rob Grey a coach on Tuesdays will be there to warm then up & to do a cool down with them.
Athletes make their own way there but aim to arrive 1 hour before their event to collect thier number ( 8 safety pins needed), to visit the toilet, warm up. Worth taking a large poly bag to put their tracksuit in , especially if it is wet!
The Harriers Club tent is usually up report there to meet up with other athletes. Remind them to do a cool down & a stretch after the race.
1. Have you paid your membership? New comers if you have done 6 weeks then we ask you to join. This is half price now. If it is a renewal then it is the full price. Forms can be downloaded from our website.
2.This term will end on 12th Dec/14th Dec. We continue during half term.
3.A huge thank you to those who have got themselves sponsored. Please aim to get all monies in by 26th/28th September in order that we can present it to LINC at the club Celebration evening.
4.At this level we ask all athletes to start getting into competing & there are some ideal competitions they can do over the winter months. Cross Country – forms are available with all the dates/venues at the desk. If you took a form we now know 9th December is at Wotton Under Edge. !st January 2018 is the County Clubs Championships.
If they are not interested in Cross Country then there is Sportshall athletics:-

Athletes will be asked to sign up for either. If they would like to do both that is fine.
Names will then be passd onto the Team Managers who will then contact you. If you have not heard a week before then please contact me.
5.If unable to attend please email me ( email@example.com) stating the FULL NAME of your child & the reason. If you know the week before then please tell the folks on the desk.This will ensure your child’s place is kept.
6.Kit – Jennie & Paul Beardsmore are usually there about 7.00pm. If you wish to order some kit & they are not there please put the monies /cheque in an envelope stating what you require plus the FULL NAME of the athlete. It will be passed onto them & the kit will be ready for you hopefully the following week provided it is in stock.
7.Collecting your son/daughter. Would parents please come into the stadium to collect them. For the safe keeping of your charges the club policy is that no child leaves without a parent. They can wait in the foyer where there are adults about to look after them till you arrive. PLEASE PARK IN THE MAIN CAR PARK NOT IN THE DISABLED BAY.
8.Training for All Year 8’s is once per week. Year 9’s we would like them to expand their talents if they have time by taking on a second training session of their choice. Please discuss this option with them so that they can let us know ASAP. I will then give your contact to the different coaches who will be asked to email you to confirm the arrangement:-
a) Throws – Monday or Tuesday or Thursday 7.00pm till 9.00pm
b)Jumps – starting after half term at St Edwards Junior School in the Sportshall 7.00pm till 8.30pm
c) Sprinting /Hurdling Saturday 10.00am till 12.00pm
d) Endurance Saturday 11.00am till 12.30pm
9. Celebration Evening is on 14th October at Sacred Hearts Church Hall, 6.00pm till 10.00pm Tickets wil be on sale at the desk. £5 per person or £20 for a family.
10. HELP NEEDED – can you offer to do :-
a) man the desk ( especially Tuesdays)
c)Assist in putting out kit or putting kit away
d)Collecting monies for our club charity when we have fixtures at home.
e)Fancy learning to officiating or to coach ( Tuesday we need more help)
11. Training takes place what ever the weather – but it is usualy adapted!
We currently have a waiting list for this Group so please do not turn up without the offer of a place via email.
To be added to the waiting list please contact the club via the “Contact” or “Make an Enquiry” link above stating your interest in the 365 Group and adding the prospective athlete’s name, date of birth and preferred training night (Tuesday or Thursday).
This group encourages members to try a wide range of athletic events before they move to the specialist “event” groups of Speed, Endurance, Jumps, Throws or Combined Events.
